Many organizations use a combination of at least two cloud providers–a hybrid cloud approach–to manage and store their data. According to Flexera’s 2024 State of the Cloud Report, over 89% of the organizations surveyed currently operate in multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments. This multi-cloud approach helps avoid vendor lock-in, enhances resilience, leverages the best features from different environments, and allows different teams the flexibility to store their application data in locations based on their expertise. It also introduces challenges in managing the data and gaining key insights from data from disparate sources.
