To address the issues caused by vulnerabilities in IoT devices, the UK government has implemented regulations requiring manufacturers of consumer products capable of internet connection to meet fundamental security standards within the UK market. These regulations fall under the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act 2022 (PSTI) and the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure (Security Requirements for Relevant Connectable Products) Regulations 2023, which took effect on April 29th, 2024.
