Many widely used applications are being bundled with AI features such as Zoom’s AI Companion, VCam’s AI-based background management and Vegas Pro’s AI video editing features. Applications using on-device AI offer reduced latency–leading to a better user experience–but the hardware in computers and laptops must be powerful enough to handle on-device AI. Intel Core Ultra Processors are an example of new chip technology advancements for on-device AI. While these new Intel chips are at lower costs when compared to using laptops with dedicated GPUs, businesses should proceed carefully if they want to use these chips to harness the power of on-device AI.
